to the best girlfriend in the world :)
today’s becca‘s birthday. she is 26 just like me!

happy birthday, hun!
this is the 3rd birthday i get to celebrate with you…we’ll keep celebrating ’til either of us can’t grow old no more! :P
that’s me.
and that’s my pretty girlfriend.
730 days!
married folks and marathon daters, i know that’s probably nothin’ to you, but it’s something to us!

i took becca out to eat a fancy dinner at Chart House. we went to Chart House for the first time in Boston and had a good time there, so we decided to try another location (Weehawken, NJ). good food and great view! (pricey, but hey, it was a special occasion)
picture taken around the back of the Chart House in Weehawken. taking a picture here was not easy…but it was fun trying :)
this thing works.
i’m always in the market for new products that can help manage pet hair. joey sheds like no other and sometimes the vacuum doesn’t quite cut it. well, actually, my vacuum cleaner works very well. but it’s the plugging in of the vacuum, the wires, the putting together of the vacuuming accessories and the noise that just makes this fabric sweeper the more desirable alternative. they’re not good for everything though. these work best on more rigid upholstery like sofas, beds, and chairs – not too great for clothing. for clothes i’ll just keep using the sticky rollers.
thanks to becca for picking these up for me!
here’s what it looks like new.
this is the bottom.
here’s one that i’m just about done with.
mice are pretty smart and pretty physically capable of most things. i’ve never really had a rodent problem since i lived in miami for most of my life (we had snakes, bobcats, crazy-ass insects, and lizards). even when i moved up to new york they were a non-issue ’cause i had pets most of the time. by the way, joey’s got quite the nose for sniffing them out. he sniffs them out and i shoot ‘em up (bb gun!) – we make quite an awesome team. anyway becca does have a rodent problem at her apartment and does not have the good fortune of living with rodent-deterring pets…so mice run amuck when the lights go off.
in the past week i’ve been helping becca catch these pests. the first few attempts weren’t very successful. this was partly be cause the traps i got at first were majorly sucky and because i didn’t place the traps strategically. oh, and just to let you know, if you’re in search for good mouse traps DO NOT buy the Tomcat brand. they suck! anyway, the second time around i got Victor traps and found the main passage way through which the mice had to pass. naturally, i placed the trap right there.
success for 4 consecutive days!

i’m just about done switching over…
the story…
my girlfriend graciously gave me her black macbook. well, rewind a little bit and what actually happened was…somehow, her screen got damaged (dropping while inside of a padded case). she dealt with it for a while by using an external monitor. then the holidays came around and she decided to treat herself to a refurb’d imac (brand-new as far as my eyes could tell). anyway, knowing that she’d eventually have an imac she basically said i could have the macbook if i could replace the screen.
$130 spent on ebay and about an hour’s worth of surgery made me the proud owner of a macbook :) all reformatted and even running leopard (thanks to herman)
i am enjoying it very much. for those of you who’ve experienced the switch, you know what i’m talking about. there were only a few things to get used to and i adjusted to those few things rather quickly. in fact, pretty much all of the changes were very favorable. after just a couple days of being on the mac platform, i found myself trying to call up some of the mac features on my computer at work. :P
i think microsoft is still good, but apple is definitely better. there, i said it…but i won’t let myself become an ifanboy. i hate ifanboys.
the end
on this beautiful saturday, becca and i set off to rockland county to fly her new kite! why not central park, you ask? i don’t know, just didn’t wanna go there.
below are two pretty cool pics of us taking turns. it’s hard to see in these thumbnails, but the kite and the kite flyer are on opposite corners of the picture.
here are some videos of our first attempts >>>
